A FEW SIMPLE UNDERSTANDINGS

A shared understanding.

Virtual Zen Garden offers a small, free place to explore and create at your own pace.

Last updated: November 6, 2026.

Using the garden

You may use the garden for personal relaxation and creation. Do not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, or infringe others’ rights. No account, payment, or purchase is required for the current garden.

Your drawings

You retain any rights you hold in the original sand patterns you create. You may download and share your exported PNGs. Your artwork remains on your device; we do not claim ownership of it. Exporting an image does not transfer ownership of the underlying website, code, models, or other assets.

Website and asset rights

The website’s code, visual assets, audio, and branding are owned by their respective rights holders. Access to the garden does not grant permission to redistribute its source assets or impersonate the project.

Local saving and availability

Your drawing is saved in this browser, without cloud backup or cross-device synchronization. Browser storage can be cleared or become unavailable. Export important work. We aim to keep the service available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or compatibility with every device.

Wellbeing

The garden is a recreational experience, not medical care or treatment. Optional breathing cues are suggestions; breathe at a comfortable pace and stop if you feel uncomfortable.

Responsibility

The service is provided as available. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not make guarantees about availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or preservation of locally saved work. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Operator and contact

Virtual Zen Garden is an independent project operated by an individual based in mainland China. Questions can be sent to support@virtualzengarden.com. Applicable mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

Updates

These terms may change as the service develops. New paid features, if introduced, will have their own clear terms; the current garden has no paid features.
